As an ex girl groups only fan, I feel that there’s more negativity among their fans than boy groups’. They easily put down other girl groups and boy groups in order to praise their favs, and there’s more fights over who’s the better group. Not to mention claiming that a person is misogynistic if they don’t agree with what they’re saying. I know not everyone is like that, but it’s a behavior I’ve seen way too much and it’s really, really annoying.
It’s funny when certain fandoms try to defend the toxicity of their fandom by saying stuff like “some bad apples don’t represent the entire fandom” because the full original phrase is “one bad apple spoils the whole bin/barrel/bunch.” Like if you’re gonna be all “not all ____!”, at least use a phrase that doesn’t originally mean “yes one bad apple DOES spoil the whole bunch.“
As much as people hate stan Twitter, what we can’t deny is that some really good jokes and memes are born there. My favourite one is kpop fans making cute video edits of their favourite idols with the song “still into you” playing in the background. They’re so adorable, I don’t want the trend to die.
Seventeen’s ‘Hit’, while not one of my favorites, if such a great song. It’s really interesting to see them experimenting a bit more with the cool style they used in ‘Getting Closer’. Also, the dance looks amazing; I can’t wait for them to post a dance practice.
Admin Note: This was sent in before SEVENTEEN released a dance practice video for “Hit.”
Yo, can Young K stop being so damn good at everything like as if being able to sing, dance, rap, beatbox, being a human trumpet, etc. wasn’t enough, he slays even tough Spanish tongue twisters with native-like pronuncation (with sexy rolled r’s to boot), too?!
btob & svt are undoubtedly the 3rd gen male idol variety kings. no other boy groups come close to them
Whenever someone says “no one dislikes BTS, it’s their fans they can’t stand” I always think to myself ‘except me.. I really don’t like either’. I understand why the distinction is made, I get why all the blame is put on their fans. But we can’t act like BTS haven’t done some things a lot of other ‘canceled’ groups have done. Plus their fans do have the ability to make people irrationally not like them. Even though I don’t hate them, their fans think anyone who doesn’t love them does, so I guess the distinction should continue being made or else their fans wouldn’t attempt to listen to criticisms (not that they do now, but yknow what I mean)
If there is something their Fancy cover taught me, it’s that SKz Hyunjin can’t lipsync to save his life
No group has to change their concept just because you personally don’t like it. If Twice, Blackpink, Momoland, GFRIEND, Oh My Girl, Lovelyz or Weki Meki come out with the same song thirty times remixed then that’s fine as long as they enjoy it and their fandom enjoys it. You are by no means the one paying their bills so let them do whatever they want. Yes, it’s great to diversify your concept occasionally but no one needs to do it.
