I know there are a lot of Asian-Americans who look to becoming Kpop idols because it’s hard for Asian-Americans to break through in the American music industry, but I’ve sometimes wondered what made non-Korean idols who were born in Asian countries choose to go the Kpop route rather than becoming an artist in their own respective country (China, Japan, Thailand). Like for example, while I don’t doubt Momo being in Twice, I’ve wondered at first what made her choose to become a Kpop idol over being a part of the Jpop industry because she would’ve also been great being in E-Girls (and I felt that E-Girls’ hard-hitting choreography were more up her alley since she’s admitted that she felt awkward doing cute dances like TT).
