[!] regarding our technical issues today

Hi all! We just wanted to come on here really quickly to address the technical issues we faced all day today.

As you may have heard, Tumblr is no longer allowing explicit content. To help take down anything explicit, they’ve implemented a new flagging system. Unfortunately, the system has a lot of inconsistencies, and many of our posts got flagged for no reason. We suspect it might be because some of the photos we use have a light-colored background, which may look nude to the system, but of course there is absolutely no explicit content on this blog.

The ones we sent to review have come back fixed by the Tumblr team, so we thought that was the end of it. However, thanks to you guys, we found out there was an issue with content posted after a certain time not showing up. Katherine and I kind of lost our minds over this haha we were so confused and honestly very upset. Because someone checked those wrongly flagged posts, we thought we were okay, but it made us really frustrated. It didn’t help that we didn’t get a notice or a warning – just straight up marking us as an explicit blog.

It was stressful for one because a lot of posts lost the chance of engagement. Yes, those posts reached some of you guys, but if you look back, those posts don’t have as many notes. But it’s not about the notes – it’s about the conversations that arise from those posts. It’s so unfair to the OPs of those opinions but also you guys the readers who lost the chance to engage at the most valuable time. Thankfully, we stopped posting to prevent this, but a lot of posts went up by the time we caught.

Another reason this was a big deal was because we were supposed to open today (and we did, thank God). But we tested and figured out new posts wouldn’t appear on a lot of dashboards, so we were concerned a lot of people wouldn’t know we were opening. Thank God, again, that the “we’re opening” post went up before this ridiculous cover up started, but we know not posting that “we’re open” post may have affected a lot of people, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

So, with all that being said, it looks like we are in the green now, and all of our posts are visible again. We’ll start posting again (it’s so backed up right now aha…). Thank you to everyone who notified us of this issue – honestly, we would have never known this was happening. We apologize for the inconvenience and the confusion. Thanks for being patient with us.
