The product placement in aoa’s ‘like a cat’ mv is honestly iconic. Like, they’re on a mission to steal a diamond where they’re crawling in air vents and bending in sexy inhuman ways to avoid lasers, and then they’re like ‘guys hold on a sec, just gotta finish this level on a mobile game i’m playing’. truly iconic.
I honestly have no idea why chanmi was picked as a member of aoa. She’s supposed to be their main dancer but i’ve never seen her dance better than average, she’s not a visual, and she’s not particularly funny or charismatic. I feel like she has no place in the group. I’m sure she’s a lovely girl and i’m really not trying to come off as a hater, i just really don’t think she’s made for this industry.
I really didn’t understand why seolhyun was considered one of the prettiest girls in korea until recently. I’ve always thought she was very plain. But then one day it was like a switch went off and i suddenly understood and saw what everyone else was seeing. I can’t explain it but now i absolutely consider her one of the prettiest girls in the world.
Aoa are/were true concept queens. Hair stylists? Robbers? Lacrosse players? Magicians? Vintage detectives? The list goes on. They had the some of the most creative concepts for every music video. I feel like recently, they are just general descriptors about the aesthetic or fashion. It’s always the same shit like “girl crush” or “hard” concepts. Everything is the same; visuals, colors, outfits, song structure. It makes each comeback of any group less and less unique from each other.
