I have wanted an EXO and BTS collab for years but after hearing the similarities and the touching lyrics in chanyeol’s “hand” and suga’s “first love” I would love for those two specifically to collab on something. Not only because it would be a middle finger to the immature fans but also because they are both really talented musicians with a beautiful and emotional way with lyrics and I really respect them both and wish others would stop pitting them against each other.
Kyungsoo recently talked about composing music together with Chanyeol. I know SM wants to release the perfectly polished songs by writers who went to schools to learn music (those songs are better i know). But i hope they release the songs composed by members too, as b-tracks. It’s also a trend these days, and fans would love to see exo members’ taste.
There are some idols, like Chanyeol, who get made fun of for their inability to dance, but when you think about it, most, if not all of them, aren’t actually that bad. Like yes, Chanyeol has absolutely no rhythm in any part of his body, but if you compare his dancing ability to the average person, or even the average Western artist, he’s very good. Most of the people who make fun of his dancing, or any idols dancing, probably couldn’t even do a two step.
I don’t know what I was expecting from Sehun and Chayeol’s collaboration for “We Young” but, it wasn’t that. It wasn’t bad or anything, but I felt kind of bored by it. Since they’re rappers, I wanted something more hype and more catchy. It’s still a good song, but it just really isn’t for me. It’s doing well though, so I’m glad other people really enjoyed it.
I don’t think Sehun and Chanyeol are as bad of rappers as some people make them out to be. When I finally decided to give Exo a try, I heard they were really bad, but when I listened to Chanyeol (I think CMB) I really enjoyed it. I think it’s the fact that a lot of Exo’s songs are pop with little to no urban influence, so their raps come out forced and random. Sometimes they sound fire (Monster, Do It Together) and other times it’s just out of place..
My biggest kink is Chanyeol being able to play every single instrument known to mankind.
I wish SM would let Chanyeol put his songs on EXO’s albums. I know they have a little creative freedom and have written lots of songs, but Chanyeol in particular has shown he’s a great lyricist and composer. SM really needs to give him more credit.
I’m sorry if this ends up sounding cringeworthy but I feel like YunJae, EunHae, HunHan and ChanBaek will go down as some of the biggest, if not THE biggest ships in all of kpop. I’ve never seen even non-fans this convinced about a ship being “real” anywhere else. I mean people call YunJae and HunHan “tragic” and yet acknowledge how strong the ships were. I in no way advocate shipping real people together. It’s extremely inappropriate and I know that. It just amazes me how popular ships can be. SM’s marketing sure is something else.
Monster by EXO was one of the first kpop songs I listened to, and prior to listening to EXO, I saw many people making fun of Chanyeol as a rapper. However, I was surprised to find that the part I liked best from Monster was Chanyeol’s. As I explored more of EXO’s music I found that he holds his ground as a rapper just fine. (especially in more recent EXO songs). It’s all a matter of taste at the end of the day. I’m glad I wasn’t swayed by the loud kpop stans and just enjoyed the music.
I would love if SM gave us an unit with Xiumin, Sehun, Chanyeol and Kai
