“Wow Thing” was by far my favourite female artist song this year; it had it all – female power, the young adult feel to it and the fun, makes-you-want-to-dance element.
I know the girls have very busy schedules (they barely squeezed the music video shooting in), but I still wish they could stay together as some sort of a super unit, where they would continue to perform with their own groups, but also occasionally come together and record more songs like this.
I know we are all mad at cube, but I have to take my hand off for how they have done with gidle, alone the fact that they managed to get them the league of legends world’s job is huge. Early conservative estimate put that around 20-50million people watched the opening ceremony, I am aware it was just two of gidle members but that can really push their popularity specially since they are rookies and the song was well received!
Trust an American gaming company to release the best kpop song of the year, for the people who doesn’t know, for this year’s world championship riot games made a kpop song using 2 western singers and 2 of the gidle members and a shit ton of augmented reality, and the song is insanely good
(G)-Idle has had such a great debut year – two amazing title tracks, multiple wins, MAMA nomination for rookie of the year, plus Soyeon did the K/DA thing for League of Legends that was a bop. I hope they keep up the energy and continue to be strong performers.
Admin Note: Soyeon and Miyeon were part of the K/DA song for League of Legends (I changed it in the picture text).
Between (G)I-dle and “HANN (Alone)(한(一))” who is in charge of naming things for this group because it physically hurts my two brain cells.
I think that (G)-Idle and LOONA are going to pave the way for a new era of girl groups. (G)-Idle has a very unique and beautiful sound that’s already proving to be popular and LOONA’s group concept is unique and well-executed.
G- idle’s choreo bothers me because its always a member dancing behind anoyher member and it makes no sense. Its not fair to the member that has to dance behind someone and doesnt get anytime to shine.
I really liked gidle’ s latata, The music video was amazing, the song was just perfect. I loved the song soo much that I couldn’t stop listening to it for 2 weeks straight after discovering it. I was curious of the dance moves as the song and concept were pretty powerful, but I was disappointed when I watched the dance practice. The choreography was good but the members didn’t look that powerful dancing it. It was more soyeon touching her body or doing some random sexy move and then everyone following the choreo looking dead inside. It tottaly killed my hype, I can’t even try listening to han now because of that. It may sound like I’m making excuses to disslike the group but I loved the song until I saw the dance practice
I feel like Soyeon was trying too hard to look fierce in ‘HANN’. She’s already naturally fierce-looking (as we saw in ‘LATATA’), so I hope she doesn’t continue to try so hard. We love a natural queen.
I hope the G-Idle Soyeon hype never dies down. The woman is seriously talented and has a bright future ahead of her.
