In Produce 101, I don’t understand why they keep trainees in F class (even after reevaluation) on the programme. I feel like they’re pretty much useless. I’m not sure if that’s how it works in Produce X 101 now when they get X, but if it is, I feel like it’s much smarter than keeping them in and bringing the other trainees down in their groups because they won’t get as many votes.
I want to see the produce series have a show with boys and girls competing to form a coed group, but I already know viewers would be biased against the girls and shippers would go crazy.
I love survival shows because it’s cool seeing all these trainees improve through every episode. But the Produce series makes it so hard to follow their groups after debut with their extreme emphasis on the “center”. I get that they were chosen as center for a reason but that doesn’t mean the rest of the members should be pushed to the background in all their mvs and shows during their limited time as a group. These members beat out 90 competitors too, they deserve their time to shine.
It’s so overwhelming that people are already spreading pictures of the rumored contestants for the next season of Produce with boys again because IZ*ONE literally debuted a month ago. Kind of hoping that Mnet won’t be biasing and having personal preferances or having the line up already planned in mind but the only thing I won’t blame Mnet is when people say they’re “evil – editing” someone. I’ll admit they edit them in a dramatic way but that is the trainee’s actions and words so therefore it’s not entirely Mnet’s fault when they look bad.
I think there should be an option for the groups that come out of any ‘Produce’ survival show to become permanent groups. Like if the members already have groups they can choose to go back or stay and the remaining members continue as the group.
Even though it’s been months since Produce 101 s2 ended, I look back and now I’m wondering why was I so hyped for it lol. If anything idol producer should have hit bigger than that show. The trainees in IP were always genuine and weren’t shady they always put the performance over the competition, the staff treated them amazingly, they have amazing songs( except mack daddy and that ppap remix) and they all bonded amazingly. I look back a pd101 s2 and some of the top contestants were hella shady towards each other they didn’t care to perfect performance and tried to outdo each other every time making performance unstable. The only difference between the final groups is that one has released music while other is still singing Ei Ei lol.
One thing I liked about the Produce series as it went on was that the person who was the “center” during the challenge performances rarely won in their group. Companies give certain members the role of center because they know there’s something about that member that will attract the audience; unfortunately a lot of these girls don’t understand that and assume because they’re in the middle, the audience will automatically vote for them. Which is why I’m glad that there are participants who, while might be on the side of the choreography, or have like maybe two lines, can still bring out that charm and make the audience notice them. I think even Hongki had said on an episode, don’t volunteer to be center if you can’t do what it takes to fill that role.
i don’t think it was fair to have nu’est compete on produce 101. They already had previously had the achievement of most viewed debut
I found it funny how Yoon Jisung said he lost his phone because of four cats while Produce 101 was still airing. Sometimes I can’t believe Daniel listened to the one who told him to put four cat emojis meaning he wants the song “Never” which was the number four song choice. I guess he thought it was harmless but it was still a bit like cheating so I question if the person who told him to do so did it for the reason that Daniel would get into trouble or if it was for genuinely helping him. In the end it kind of worked well for him because everyone thought he’s sexy after the thigh sweep he did in “Open Up”.
I still don’t understand why some of the members of I.O.I left the group not long after debut? They put in all this effort and worked so hard on PD101, got into the final group to debut and then go back to their original groups. Why bother working hard to get so far and then leave?
Admin Note: Just a clarification based on the post’s wording – the members of I.O.I did not actually leave the group after debut, but certain ones returned to their original groups or debuted in a new one while they were promoting with I.O.I.
