Kim Samuel is actually doing pretty well as a soloist; he’s gained a lot of traction from songs like one and teenager and he’s using his dancing skills as an advantage to go to different shows and competitions to gain more public interests, as well as having a large Chinese market. He’s not struggling as much as people doomed him to be
I don’t understand how people were so angry at the Wanna One finalists to the point I actually thought they’d flop because Samuel and JR didn’t make it but how come Samuel and Nu’est aren’t doing so well as Wanna One? I just expected that they’d have more supporters and doing better than them. This isn’t me putting Samuel or Nu’est down but I’m just genuinly curious where all those angry people are now. The same goes for the past I.O.I fans because the members don’t really get that much support as they used to now that they’re over and in their respective groups.
Completely hypothetically speaking, if by some weird coincidence where Samuel re-signed with Pledis and was put back in Seventeen, I think I would be ok with it.
I thought Samuel really stepped it up with One. His releases before that were okay and I liked them but One is on another level. And I love seeing his growth from predebut to Produce 101 and now. He really is an amazing performer! I’d also like to thank him for proving me wrong since I was really unsure of him becoming a solo artist.
i am so proud on how far kim Samuel has come. he was just a pledis trainee and now he is a talented soloist! i hope he continues his career successfully and gets his first win soon!
Now that Kim Samuels a solo artist, well a few months within his career, all the hype/anger from him not getting into WannaOne feels like it did nothing, because people haven’t been supporting him after the initial uproar. After 16, it feels like he’s lost traction. Solo artist May not be your thing, but please check him out!
To be honest, I didn’t like Samuel’s ‘Sixteen’ or ‘Eye Candy’ that much. But after he came out with ‘One’ I immediately liked it better than his other title tracks and honestly I think it’s his best so far. I hope he sticks with that kind of sound or something similar, because I feel it suits him best.
The other day I realised there aren’t many young male solos like Samuel and it made me love him all the more. He has had such a tough journey and still hasn’t given up. Whilst him turning to solo officially is still bitter-sweet, I have enjoyed all of his albums/minis immensely, his talent is another level.
Lucas from NCT looks like a combination of Samuel and Daehyun and I just cannot unsee it.
Samuel going solo was probably one of the best things to happen for him. Since he’s a solo artist, he can finally shine on his own. Plus he’s got tons of fans, especially in China and Vietnam, and his albums sell really well for a soloist. He’s more successful now than he ever would have been in WannaOne.
